FOLDER FIVE
CONTINUING...

OK, so now we are in folder #5 and now it starts to get intresting. Why? Because YOU now are going to get to read about other people's claims as to being Enlightened or Awakened and what they have to say about it. All but one are readily available on the internet and can be easily accessed by using the links below. One thing that you should find interesting is that the people cited seem to be typical everyday folk. Some claimed their Awakenings occured outside the doctine, that is, without the formal ritual of Zen, sangha, et al. Others participated or flirted with more formal approaches, although, if not, all, in some way or the other have had a background, knowledge or interest in things "Zen," that is, some sort of known or unknown feeling toward Awakening most of their lives. Among the list is an account of a seventeen year old boy, a man from Poland born in 1962, and an American business woman. The last source is book on Sri Ramana Maharshi and it is listed after the suggested links.
I have run into many, many sites on the web citing various claims to Enlightenment. I do not claim to know or profess as to their accurcy or reliability of every claim found on the net, except for some reason, the ones selected below. It is highly advised that you read the suggested sites in the order as presented, however, BEFORE you read any of them there is one very important step, and that is to read the following two items FIRST:
- How To Recognize Enlightenment
- ENLIGHTENMENT: Can You Do It?
When you have completed reading the above articles return here and continue with the following, reading them in order. All of the sites have a variety of click through links and you may access them if you wish, however some of them come up later in the course and some of them will be sort of "out of context" with where we are now...BUT you may follow the links if you so desire as most are intended to clarify what you are reading. That can take a long time though, as there are many, many links. If you find it important you can simply make note of the pages and come back to them later. Shy away from any commercial ventures that may pop up.
The Wanderling's experience is documented in a paper at the bottom of the list, number six (6), below:
- AZIZ KRISTOF
- THE DAZZLING DARK: A Near-Death Experience Opens the Door to a Permanent Transformation
- EPIPHANY: A GIFT OF LIGHT, A Spontaneous Experience Into Awareness
- SUZANNE SEGAL, A Collision With the Infinite
- A CHILD OF THE CYBER SANGHA
Interesting don't you think? Especially so when contrasted against the web page titled ENLIGHTENMENT: Can You Do It? Poor old Zen masters, they just couldn't quite pull it off. Too bad those days weren't like the present day when everybody that pops up at some hotel or another gets Enlightened.
NOTE: If you do however, decide to contact any of the above "personalities," say Aziz Kristof or Metta Zetty, please, in your initial contact, make it clear that you came though to their resources via AWAKENING 101 and the Wanderling
Then, for those who may be interested, the following refers to the Wanderling:
.....6. DARK LUMINOSITY: Smashing the Black Lacquer Barrel
.....7. SRI RAMANA MAHARSHI: The Last American Darshan
The final step in this section is to obtain a copy of the following book and read it. Large portions of it is done in Question & Answer format. It moves along quite well, is highly imformative and easy to read. Although it doesn't matter and shouldn't matter, it should be noted ALL of the above and Sri Ramana below are listed in one form or the other in the three major "guru" online rating services: Visions of Truth, Sarlo's Guru Rating Service, and The Gate Keeper's Spiritual Teachers List (all linked in folder #10):
BE AS YOU ARE: The Teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi
Edited by David Godman
Penguin Books
ISBN 0-14-019062-7

To read the review on the book please click the above image.
Be sure to read the woman's comments compared with what the reviewer writes.
When completed with the above, take a few minutes and read MY review comments in the folder below as well as what is offered in the other three folders, then, except for perhaps finishing the book on Sri Ramana, go to Folder #6.
